The Blessings Closet is a monthly free clothing and accessory give-away event that supports individuals and families in our local community who are experiencing hardship.
This event is held every second Saturday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in Keislar Hall for our guests to take items on a first-come bases.
We are currently looking for GENTLY USED donations on a rolling basis. Every contribution helps provide comfort, dignity, and hope to our neighbors in need.
Items we ONLY TAKE:
- men's and women's clothing (examples: shirts, long sleeve shirts, tank tops, jackets, sweaters, pants, trousers, shorts, skirts, dresses, bathing suits, swim trucks, etc.)
- shoes (examples: sneakers, tennis shoes, sandals, boots, slippers, etc.)
- accessories (examples: belts, neckties, bow ties, hats, scarves, handbags, backpacks, etc.)
- kids clothing (examples: shirts, long sleeve shirts, sweaters, jackets, dresses, pants, shorts, etc.)
- baby clothing (examples: bodysuits/onesies, sleepers/footies, rompers, shirts, shorts, and dresses.)
- bedding (examples: pillows, blankets, sheets, comforters, etc.)
- NEW underwear (examples: bras, panties, boxers, briefs, undershirts, etc.)
- NEW socks (examples: short, long,
- NEW toiletries (examples: soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, mouthwash, combs/brushes, shaving cream, facial cleansers, lotions, etc.)
Items we DO NOT take:
NO sharp objects (examples: knives, scissors, sharp tools, etc.), weapons, cleaners/hazardous waste (examples: household cleaners, detergents, bleach, pesticides, paint, etc.), sporting equipment, electronics, small to large appliances, books, toys, games, car items, decorations, art/school supplies, food (perishable or non-perishable), etc.
Instructions on donating 24/7:
- Box or bag items and label "Blessing's Closet"
- PLEASE EMAIL office@elsobranteumc.org OR CALL 510-223-0790 US *BEFORE DROPPING OFF ITEMS, so that we can notify a volunteer to process your items within 24 hours.
- Bring donations to the Blessing's Closet door, located at 5151 Argyle Rd., El Sobrante, CA 94803.
- Turn left into our parking lot and on the right, park in front of the first white "L" shaped building.
- Take the right ramp upstairs and go down the hallway until you see a door labeled "Blessing Closet".
- Leave boxed/bagged clothing and/or accessories in front of the door.
